If you're not at the point of having to strike a balance, deciding just how far you will let seo techniques erode the other user-centric considerations, then you're simply not pushing seo hard enough.</description>

		<description>In some of your slides you show the title as "The business case for web standards &#124; Main / Home Page", and I was wondering if you thought everything after the pipe would be better off excluding from the listings?

In most cases that part is for the benefit of a human navigating your site, not necessarily the search engine or tagging system like del.icio.us.  I was thinking you could use unobtrusive javascript to append those words onto the title, for the benefit of the human, while the more concise version will be indexed.</description>
