My new book – Web Development solutions – is just around the corner

Web Development Solutions - Ajax, APIs and Hosted Services Made Easy

Finally we are doing the last reviews for the new book by Norm and me published by Friends of Ed called “Web Development Solutions – Ajax, APIs and Hosted Services Made Easy”. It has been quite a task to get this one out, with the first technical reviewer never showing up and Norm having to stop his contributions halfway through. However, I can’t wait to see this on the shelves of Foyle’s :-)

Great stuff. Currently reading your beginning javascript book and learning loads, so I’m looking forward to this one.

Damn, I had written a lot and then got trashed by the spam checkbox. Hitting back cleared the form. Bugger.

Anyway, congrats on finally getting to this stage! I certainly enjoyed reading the book – as I’m sure will the bosses at Yahoo ;-)

I just finished reading this book and was left with some mixed feelings. I can understand the approach, but I felt the content somewhat watered down the task of creating a useful website. I don’t think this is anything against you or your co-author – I just think it needed a different title.

I was expecting to see some more info or brief primers into AJAX, API’s, or Libraries – but they were just represented as plugins for WordPress. More time spent showing how to plug them in, versus discussing the technology itself.

It wasn’t a horrible read by any means – and I know you guys put a lot of work and time into it. I would recommend it to someone who already had a little bit of knowledge and wanted to get a quick web presence.

Regardless of my negative sounding vibe – congrats on another book.
